Almost every world history textbook discusses how the Mongols facilitated trade across Afroeurasia in the thirteenth century. I’ve written before about using paizas in the Mongol Empire and the Chinggis Exchange across Afroeurasia, but how did Chinggis Khan start this intensification of trade?
